Upon arriving in Togo on Monday, October 28, 2024, Nick Breach (VP of Global Field Operations), Patrick Abah-Dakou (Director – Francophone Africa), and myself had the pleasure of meeting with Rev. Godson Dogbeda Teyi Lawson Kpavuvu, President of the Methodist Church Togo Conference. During the meeting, three leaders over the women were present – Pastor Mensah, Mrs. Almeida, and Mrs. Tossou.
During our meeting, he requested that we train the women on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
The topic of the presentation was “Fulfilling your Ministry as a Godly Woman While Pursuing Financial Empowerment.” We discussed with the sixty women leaders the characteristics and qualities of a Godly (Holy) woman and had the ladies to breakout into four groups and discuss the qualities of being a Godly woman and identify the one quality that is most challenging to attain and why.
We also defined and discussed “What is a Financial Disciple,” as well as examined the Five Pillars of Financial Discipleship.

We shared how to Build Their Finances God’s Way, Navigate Their Finances God’s Way and operate their Businesses God’s Way.
Another topic we explored was how they could help young people to Give, Save, and Spend, by teaching them God’s principles for handling money and possessions.
The last discussion shared was Setting Their Houses in Order because our days are numbered. At the end, we had a breakout session on the Five Pillars of Financial Discipleship, in which the ladies discussed the Five Pillars and identified the one pillar that may be most challenging to attain and why.
The training session closed with presenting the Your Money Counts book (in French) to Pastor Mensah who is over all the women.
After presenting the books, Pastor Mensah stated that she is personally committed to using the principles outlined in the book as well as teaching the women the principles!
